Some new corporate technologies are making it more and more difficult to protect confidential data and information.
The SEU-8440 encryption device is security solution for your digital fixed connections (G.703 and G.704). With SEU-8440, you can encrypt your communications quickly and easily. Simply connect SEU- 8440 between your terminal and the network terminating unit – the "plug and play" installation is fast and easy – and enjoy convenient, no-worry secure communications with any partner who also has a SEU-8440.
SEU-8440 protects your communications over both existing and planned fixed connections. SEU-8440 is the right security solution in cases in which critical or even personal data have to be transported – for example, via LAN-to-LAN connections between branch offices and headquarters. With its 19-inch case, SEU-8440 fits easily into standardized equipment racks.
SEU-8440 gives you flexibility. If you expand your communications bandwidth from 64 kBit/s to 2 MBit/s, your SEU-8440 automatically recognizes type of connected encryption unit (G.703 or G.704) and encrypts the added channel. Albrecht offers you a plug-and-play, yet easily adaptable solution.
SEU-8440 is also available in a dual combination (SEU-8440 dual: two units in one case). For highest security application a Tempest-proof version in compliance of AMSG-720B (Zone 0) is available.
SEU-8440-3 and SEU-8440-4 features
For 2MBit/s digital fixed connections: SEU-8440-3 for unstructured links, 1 channel, no D-channel (E1) SEU-8440-4 for structured links with 31 channels, 1 D-channel (ISDN)
Automatic recognition of the connection type
19-inch/1U case for rack mounting
Also available as SEU-8440 dual (two SEU-8440 in one 19-inch/1U case)
Supports plug-and-play
RSA authentication and session key exchange (key length 1024 bits, X.509 V3 certificate on chipcard)
AES on-line encryption (key length 256 bits); SEU-8440 devices fully automatically negotiate the session key during call set-up, as part of transmission-path authentication
The session key is automatically changed at pre-defined intervals
Patented transmission path authentication
Completely transparent (in the B channels) for communications devices/protocols
Software updates via a serial interface
ITSEC1 certification for chipcard: E4 level certification (high)
ITSEC1 certification for the device: E3 level certification (high)
Tempest-proof in compliance with AMSG-720B (Zone 0) as option

General
The models with build-in Smart Cards do not need any user interaction. These models work fully automatically.
The Chipcard Operating System, V2.0 (TCOS) is the operating system of the used Smart Cards. TCOS is ITSEC level 4 evaluated with mechanism strength high. The SEU-8420/..30/..40 models are evaluated with ITSEC level E3/high.
Model SEU-8440-3 (64/128K/2M) is available for encryption of unstructured link up to 2 MBit/s with one channel, no D-channel. Intended for router or PABX connection
Model SEU-8440-4 is available for encryption of 2 MBit/s links structured in 31 channels, 1 D-channel, ISDN. Link Encryption|SEU 8440|ISDN|AES256
